Lenore F. Coral Travel Grant
The Lenore F. Coral Travel Grant
, administered by the U.S. Branch of IAML, is intended to help support travel and conference fees to attend an annual IAML meeting. The grant is a cash award offered every other year, or as funds allow. (Watch this page for announcements.) The grant is open to all members of the IAML U.
S. Branch, but priority will usually be given to members attending their first or second IAML conference who have not received this award in a previous year. Applicants for the travel award should have little or no support from their home institution or library. Venues for meetings have included numerous cities in Europe, Tokyo, Sydney, Wellington, and Jerusalem. Recent and upcoming sites include Amsterdam, Moscow, and Dublin. The next IAML meeting in the United States will be in New York City in 2015.
Lenore F. Coral Travel Grant Endowment Fund
The U.S. Branch of IAML, a 50l(c)(3) charitable organization under the U.S. Internal Revenue Code, has established an endowment dedicated to the Coral Travel Grant and is undertaking a major campaign to acquire sufficient funds to assure permanent annual funding.
Donors may pledge an amount to be paid over a two-year period. A Coral Endowment Fund Donation Form
is available here online, ready to be filled in, printed out, and mailed.
Neil Ratliff Outreach Fund
Shipping expenses for the IAML-US Donated Music Project are usually covered by the individual donor or donating institution. US libraries may apply to the Neil Ratliff Outreach Fund for reimbursement of expenses. Applicants need not be IAML members. Please send applications to the Treasurer of IAML-US:
The Treasurer, the head of the IAML-US Donated Materials Program, and one elected member of the IAML-US Board will consider applications.
The items offered must be music materials, as described in the guidelines for the IAML-US Donated Music Materials Program, and may be sent only to music libraries and institutions in "post-communist" and "developing" countries (see guidelines for amplification).
Describe the quantity and type of material; estimate the cost of mailing and any customs duty the recipient may incur.
Indicate any other source of funding for the mailing involved and whether your institution, if you are affiliated with one, is unwilling to cover costs.
The Treasurer will reimburse costs after receiving official receipts for all mailing and customs charges for applications previously approved.
